Federal Govt Orders Blockage Of Routes To Eagle Square Ahead Of Independence Day Celebration

The order was given to enhance security in and around Eagle Square, venue of the Independence ceremony located in the heart of Abuja.

Ahead of the Independence Day celebration on Thursday October 1, the Federal Government has ordered that all routes leading to the Eagle Square be blocked from midnight on Wednesday September 30.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed said the order was given to enhance security in and around Eagle Square, venue of the Independence ceremony located in the heart of Abuja.

While Shehu Shagari Way, Ahmadu Bello Way, outward and inward-bound Airport Roads and adjoining roads would be blocked to traffic, the Federal Secretariat Complex would be evacuated by 2.00 p.m on Wednesday September 30.
