The Lagos State Government has shut down at least 53 churches, mosques and hotels in the state over noise pollution and other environmental related offences.

According to the Government, the action followed complaints of residents about the ‘offences’ committed by the worship places and hotels in their environment.

Most of the worship centres were also residential apartments converted into worship centres.

The General Manager, Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, Adebola Shabi, said any worship place that does not comply with the law will also be shut down in the nearest future.
