ASUU Hints On Calling Off Strike, In Closed Door Session With Senate

University students may have hope of returning to school soon as ASUU meets with Senate to discuss a way forward.

There are indications that the Academic Staff Union of Universities led by its President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi may call off its protracted industrial action soon.
 
This comes after the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, and the principal officers of the red chamber are currently holding a crucial meeting behind closed doors with the leadership of the ASUU.
 
The meeting would discuss the alternative designed by ASUU to the Integrated Personnel Payroll System by the Federal Government for the payment of civil servants’ salaries.
