Nigerians Drag Governor Makinde For Donating N100m For Monarch's Palace Renovation

Nigerians on social media are blasting the governor for donating such a whooping sum of N100M towards the renovation of a palace while giving the bereaved families N1 million only.

Hours after Seyi Makinde of Oyo state announced he was donating the sum of N100 million for the renovation of Soun of Ogbomoso’s palace after it was ravaged during the protest while offering the families of slain victims the sum of N1million, Nigerians have taken to social media to lambast the governor while accusing him of having misplaced priorities.

The palace of the monarch was vandalised by residents of the community after he was accused of folding his hands and keeping mute regarding the death of Jimoh Isaiq who was allegedly shot by a police officer during the #EndSARS protest last Saturday, October 10.

Governor Makinde visited the monarch on Tuesday, October 13, and announced a N100 million donation towards the renovation of the palace and N1 million to families of those killed during the protest.
