#EndSARS: FG Reveals Plan To Setup Judicial Panels Of Inquiry To Investigate Cases Of Police Brutality And Extrajudicial Killings

Following the on-going #EndSARS protest against brutality in the country, the Federal government has revealed plans to set up Judicial panels to investigate and receive complaints of harassment, brutality or related extrajudicial killings by the police force and set up special victims fund to compensate victims.

The decision was taken at the National Economic Council NEC which was chaired by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Thursday, October 15. Bashir Ahmad, Personal Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Bashir Ahmad, disclosed this on his Twitter handle.

He Wrote;


''The National Economic Council (NEC) chaired by VP Osinbajo, has directed the immediate establishment of Judicial Panels of Inquiry to receive and investigate complaints of Police brutality or related extra judicial killings, the assignment to be concluded within 6 months (max.).
