The 6-year-old boy who sustained injuries while saving his baby sister from being mauled by a dog, Bridger Walker, has been honoured by The World Boxing Council (WBC) with world heavyweight champion for a day.

Recall that Bridger made headlines months ago, after he displayed bravery by grabbing his sister’s hand and running with her to prevent her from being attacked by a dog.

When asked the reason for his action, the 6-year-old stated that, “If someone was going to die, it must be me, I’m the older brother.”

Ebony James who shared the story on LinkedIn wrote,

“It will remain in the official historical record of the WBC. For that one day, he was the best fighter in the world.”

Recall that Captain America actor, Chris Evans also sent a sweet message to Bridger to commend his bravery.

In his message, the actor promised to send Bridger an official Captain America shield for his courageous act.

Evans said in a message to 6-year-old Bridger,

“Pal, you’re a hero, what you did was so brave, so selfless,your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother. Your parents must be so proud of you.

“I will send you an authentic Captain America shield because pal, you deserve it.

“Keep being the man you are, we need people like you, Hang in there, I know recovery might be tough, but based on what I’ve seen, I don’t think there’s much that can slow you down
.” He added.
