Suspected Sea Pirate Arrested In Rivers After Attack On Boat Passengers

A man suspected to be a sea pirate has been arrested after a violent boat attack at Bolo-Ama Fishing Settlement in Bonny, Rivers State.

It was gathered the the suspect identified as Dan Clifford George was one of the sea pirates terrorizing the Bonny/Port Harcourt Waterways.

The Special Assistant to the Bonny Local Government chairman, Comr Williams Ogbah Agwu, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Thursday, November 26, said the suspect was apprehended and handed to the Joint Nigeria Navy/Army Force operating at the Bonny Coal Beach.

"This guy by name DAN CLIFFORD GEORGE, he hails from Asarama Community in Andonai LGA Rivers State. He is one of the sea pirates that has been terrorizing the Bonny/Port Harcourt Waterways," the statement says.

"But luck ran out of him yesterday while on operation around the BOLO-AMA fishing settlement, close to the yellow platform, after his team on operation violently capsized and used macheted on all the passengers on the boat coming from Port Harcourt to Bonny. He was apprehended and handed over to the Joint Nigeria Navy/Army Force operating at the Bonny Coal Beach in the early hours of today. The Nigeria Army has handed over the assailant to the Nigeria Marine Police for further investigation and prosecution."
