Court Strikes Out SERAP's Lawsuit Against Lai Mohammed And NBC

Ruling on the case, the Court held that SERAP has no locua standi in the case as it is not a part of the matter.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has struck out a lawsuit filed by The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) against Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed and the National Broadcasting Commission(NBC)

SERAP had approached the court to stop the N5million fine imposed on some broadcast stations in the wake of the #EndSARS crisis weeks ago.

However ruling on the case, the Court held that SERAP has no locua standi in the case as it is not a part of the matter. The Judge further stated that the case is a mere academic exercise.
