A Policeman praised for bravery after saving a motorist from a blazing car has been sacked for stealing petrol, reports Daily Mirror UK.

Andrew Hiscocks used a police fuel card to fill up his own private car. He was found guilty of six offences at a Thames Valley Police hearing on Friday.

Thames Valley police said: “PC Andrew Hiscocks, who was based at Milton Keynes, was dismissed without notice in front of Chief Constable Francis Habgood yesterday.

“He was found guilty of six counts of breaching the Standards of Professional Behaviour set out in the Schedule to the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2012

“The breaches all related to honesty and integrity, discreditable conduct and orders and instructions in which PC Hiscocks used a Thames Valley police fuel card to fuel a private vehicle, knowing he was not entitled to, causing loss of money to Thames Valley police.

“The case was referred to the Crown Prosecution Service and PC Hiscocks received a criminal caution. He was dismissed without notice though he has made arrangements to pay back the money to Thames Valley Police.”

Hiscocks, based at Milton Keynes, Bucks, was given a commendation in 2003 for saving a woman from a car that had collided with another vehicle being pursued by the police. Two men in the other car were killed.
