Mahmood Yakubu has been confirmed again to serve as chairman of INEC for another term.

Professor Mahmood Yakubu has been confirmed by the Senate as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Senate gave the confirmation on Tuesday, 1st December, 2020.
Chairman of the Committee, Senator Kabiru Gaya who read the report of the committee which recommended the presidential nominee for confirmation said Professor Mahmood displayed high-level intelligence and competence in his response to questions by committee members.
Gaya also said the nominee had no petition written against him.
He was therefore, confirmed as INEC Chairman.
