How an 18-year old Boy Wooed a Girl at Gunpoint in Delta State

A teenager in the South South part of Nigeria has shocked the police after he pulled a gun on a girl he was asking out on her rebuff.

 
An 18-year-old man, Happy Eforpor, of Edere-Aviara in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, has been arrested for threatening to kill a girl and her mother if the girl refused his love advances.

Police surveillance team received information that Eforpor, in company with two suspected cult members, went to the house of one Fejiro Independence in the same locality and asked her to be his girlfriend. But the she refused. Irked by her refusal, the suspects started to exchange words with the girl and when her mother tried to intervene, Eforpor pulled out a locally-made pistol and threatened to shoot them.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Celestina Kalu, disclosed this in Asaba yesterday. She said: “On receipt of the information, detectives were quickly despatched to the scene and arrested the said Happy Eforpor.”
 
The PPRO, however disclosed that Eforpor’s accomplice, Samson Dick, escaped. Kalu said one Oghenemaro Onowo of Edere-Aviara town, who allegedly aided the escape of the said Dick, was also arrested.
 
She listed the items recovered from Eforpor to include a locally-made pistol and one expended cartridge. Efforts are being made to arrest the culprit at large and prosecute the outlaws in the court of law.
