Houseboy Leads Gang to Kidnap Boss' Son in Edo

A houseboy is currently at large after his gang kidnapped the child of his boss for a ransom.

 
A commercial bus driver, Andy Ibojie along with four others have been arrested by operatives attached to the Edo State Police Command for allegedly kidnapping a six year old boy from Okomu town, Ovia South West local government area of the state, according to DailyPost.

Confessing to the crime Ibojie said, he never intended to commit the act, adding that a boy who works in the victim’s house as a house boy had planned with them to kidnap his boss’ son for a ransom.

It was learnt that the police arrested the suspects when they were trying to collect a ransom of N230, 000 from the victim’s parents. He said; “We kidnapped the boy at Okomu. The boy who works with the victim’s mother sent us to kidnap him.

“I don’t actually know the reason why he said we should kidnap him but he led the squad and now he is nowhere to be found.

“The boy was working with the victim’s mother as house boy and he was the one that attached us to himself.

“We kidnapped the boy at Okomu and he spent five days with us.”
 
Meanwhile, the said houseboy is currently on the run and the police are on hot pursuit.
