After an epic battle with the sea monster, a brave fisherman was able to conquer and bring to shore a giant fish from the deep.
Fisherman Yuri El Diablo Grisendi, who caught the creature, says he’s never seen anything like the huge catfish, which put up an hour-long struggle before he finally landed it
The 38-year-old from Reggio Nell Emilia has been fishing for 20 years but he’s never seen anything like the beast he hooked on 15 September 2015.
He said: “I’ve never seen anything like it. “I’ve been fishing for 20 years but I’ve never seen a catfish like this - it was a monster.
“It’s comfortably the biggest fish I’ve ever caught - 265lbs is absolutely massive.”
Yuri hooked took just over an hour to reel in the other-worldly fish but he’s in no doubt that every second was worth it.
He said: “It’s by far the biggest fish I've ever caught and it put up a real fight but it was worth every second.
“It took a lot of patience and strength but to look back at those pictures of me with the fish makes every second worth it.”
