Police Confirm Abduction Of Anchor University's Deputy Vice-Chancellor

The Commissioner of Police mobilised a search and rescue team comprising of the Anti Kidnapping personnel, Police patrol teams, vigilante and Local hunters to rescue the Deputy Vice-Chancellor after they were notified of the attack.

The Nasarawa Police Command has confirmed the abduction of Professor Fatokun Johnson, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Anchor University.

Police Spokesperson in the state, ASP Ramhan Nansel told newsmen that the police received the complaint from one Umazayi Emmanuel.

Emmanuel reportedly said the gunmen attacked him and his boss along Kurmi Shinkafa village, Kokona Local Government Area while on transit from Jos to Keffi on Tuesday January 19.

Nansel said the Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe (PSC) mobilised a search and rescue team comprising of the Police Mobile Force, Anti Kidnapping personnel, Military, Police patrol teams, vigilante and Local hunters to the area to rescue the Deputy Vice-Chancellor after they were notified of the attack.

He also pleaded with members of the public to provide the police with information that will lead to the arrest of the kidnappers.
