Wild Jubilation in Enugu as Nnamdi Kanu Regains Freedom

It was a frenzy atmosphere in Enugu today as news filtered in about the Federal High Court ruling ordering the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu.

It was jubiliation galore in major streets of Enugu metropolis on Thursday, as the news of Radio Biafra boss, Nnamdi Kanu's release circulated.
 
Nnamdi who was arrested on October 17 by Department of State Services operatives after he arrived Nigeria gained his freedom today. He regained his freedom after a Federal High Court Justice in Abuja ordered his immediate release, Vanguard reports.
 
The court held that the continued detention of Kanu by the Department of States Services (DSS) without trial was unlawful. A check aroung Ogui Road, New Haven streets in Enugu revealed that people especially youths were in a frenzy mood just as most relaxation spots were filled to the brim occasioned by his release.
 
However, new Leader of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra,MASSOB, Uchenna Madu who has being the arrowhead of the struggle for Kanu’s release said that, the discharge, acquit of charges against Kanu by Nigerian Government is a triumph over forces of injustice, suppression, oppression and subjection against the oppressed Indigenous People of Biafra,IPOB.
 
Madu said, “MASSOB’s consistency and uncompromised spirit under me has been vindicated. MASSOB shall continue with IPOB for genuine, committed Biafran non violent struggle. We salute our comrades in IPOB both at home and diaspora for their unrelenting ,courageous efforts,spirit of oneness in pursuing the vision and mission of IPOB.

“Nnamdi Kanu has become the hero of genuine Biafra agitation. Those who earlier oppose Nnamdi will cover their faces in shame. MASSOB hails the committed, eloquent, dedicated Igbo leaders who fearlessly assisted in the release of our brother,Kanu. MASSOB knows them,because we met and appealed to them and they responded. He shall be received in Biafraland as the greatest hero.”
