The new bills which were signed into law makes fertility, genotype, HIV/AIDS tests compulsory before marriage.

The Niger state government on Wednesday February 24, signed the bill against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and the bill for Premarital Medical Examination into law.

The new bills which were signed into law makes fertility, genotype, HIV/AIDS tests compulsory before marriage and were sponsored by Niger state house of assembly members Binta Mamman and Malam Shuaibu Liman.

It also gives relevant agencies the legal backing to tackle the menace of violence, mostly suffered by women.
