There was fear and panic in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, at the weekend following the sudden emergence of several hijab-wearing young girls and some boys, asking for alms at strategic traffic lights and junctions of the City Centre, ThisDay reports.

According to the report, most of the girls who were within the ages of 7 to 15 years took over the Kashim Ibrahim Way, Wuse II, at very odd hours of the night, from where they lay siege to cars at the traffic junctions, asking for alms.

This created fear in most motorists who were afraid some of the girls might yet be the ones used by Boko Haram for its suicide bombings.

Most of the commuters hurriedly departed the area and sped off on sighting the girls.

Many residents of the area have called on the government to do something about the girls as they are vulnerable to be used by the terror group, Boko Haram to achieve its evil plots.
