Aisha Buhari, the wife of the Nigerian president, has pleaded with private sectors and Nigerians in general to support Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Borno state and other affected parts of the country.

With a view to helping the IDPs relocate to their homes after spending two to three years in the camps, the wife of the president said: “to a lot of them its like starting life all over again and the little assistance from good natured citizens will go a long way in helping them to settle down and start life afresh.”
She said this when she received a delegation of four women who recently climbed the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilamanjaro, in aid of raising funds for the IDPs.
Aisha Buhari went further to reveal she had already spoken to five companies and eight truckloads of food had been made available so far. She said that the private organizations in the country will be discharging their corporate social responsibility to the society by helping the IDPs.
