Lawmakers in Ekiti state House of Assembly have debunked claims that they have received all outstanding entitlements from the state government.
Sequel to a publicized report that the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, had paid all the outstanding entitlements due to the 19 All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers in the state House of Assembly, the legislators have refuted such claims.
A publication in one of the national newspapers last weekend had revealed that the lawmakers had brokered a truce with the governor and that all their benefits had been paid.
However, the legislators inisisted that they have not received salaries and allowances since November. 2014.
It was also learnt that after the removal of the beleaguered Speaker of the assembly, Hon Adewale Omirin, by seven pro-Fayose lawmakers in the assembly last November, the 19 APC lawmakers have not conducted any sitting neither have they collected salaries and other entitlements based on Omirin’s revelation.
A statement by Omirin’s Special Adviser on Media, Wole Olujobi, said the report was mischievous and outrightly false.

Puzzled by the publiaction, the lawmakers said they were shocked that such a sensitive report could be published based on rumour.
