Security Guard Shot Dead As Gunmen Raid Ex-Minister’s Residence in Plateau

Some daredevil gunmen have attacked the residence of a former Minister of Sports, Damishi Sango, in Ganawuri, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to Daily Trust, it was gathered that two persons were shot in the attack which happened around 9pm on Wednesday.

They were rushed to the Jos University Teaching Hospital for treatment but the guard died from injuries sustained in the attack.

Police Public Relations Officer in Plateau State, Gabriel Ubah, confirmed the attack but said a manhunt has been launched for the attackers.

“A team of detectives and intelligence officers have already commenced investigation and manhunt for the criminals,” he said.

Ubah added that the Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka, has visited Sango’s residence over the incident.

It is unclear if the ex-minister or his family members were at home during the attack.

Sango is the immediate past chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State.
