The video which surfaced on Facebook emanated from Papua New Guinea and appears to show a woman sitting on a chair in a police station. Authorities said they were deeply concerned by the footage after it emerged online.
It is alleged that a man, who is off camera, threatens to put the woman in a cell if she refuses to unwrap and eat two condoms, reports ABC News.
Papua New Guinea's police media team say the identity of the man and the woman are unknown, and it is not clear if police were involved in the incident.
It is claimed that the incident took place at a police station in the capital, Port Moresby in the East Highlands Province. The exact date is not clear.
However, a full investigation into the matter has been ordered by the police commissioner to ascertain the source of the tape and those involved in the incident. A statement from the press team said if a police officer was found to be involved, they would be dealt with accordingly.
