It has been revealed that Boko Haram terrorists worked together with some Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) during an attack on Ajiri in Mafa Local Government Area that left many people dead including security operatives.

According to PRNigeria, the terrorists stole five vehicles after killing 15 Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) members, 10 civilians and 5 soldiers in the attack.

Ajiri is 20 kilometres from Dikwa town and 55 kilometres from Maiduguri, the Borno capital.

The insurgents stormed the community, opened fire on locals, the CJTF operatives, and attempted to overrun a military formation in the area.

Troops, including Special Forces, engaged them in a gun duel for hours. Some of the sect members died.

Ajiri never witnessed any major terror attack until displaced families were relocated and resettled by the state government.

Intelligence found that some of the IDPs are families of senior Boko Haram commanders and active fighters of the sect.

They communicate with their children, who are now terrorists and operate from the Tumbus in Lake Chad axis where they plot assault against the military.
