Governor Okorocha Laments Absence of South East Legislators In NASS

The Governor of Imo State, Chief Rochas Okorocha, last weekend lamented to reporters the absence of South East legislators in the National Assembly.

 
 
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State told reporters last weekend that his worst day in the All Progressive Congress, was when the party he was asked to nominate any ranking member of the National Assembly who won on the platform of the party in the South-east to be considered as Senate President or Speaker of the House of Representatives in this dispensation, and there was none.
 
Okorocha ,who was sworn-in on May 29 for his second tenure stated that athough his government was somehow liberal in her first tenure, the second tenure would be strict in ensuring that the right things are done. “
 
He said: We are going to be a bit hard, so let Imo people bear with us as we try to correct certain things,” he said.
 
He maintained that one of the areas his government would focus on is the commercialisation of government parastatals to make them more effective and self reliant.
