Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku and Aisha Alhassan

An Appellate Court in Abuja has delivered its final ruling on the conduct of the election in Taraba state.

The Court of Appeal with a five-member panel led by Justice Abdul Aboki has decided in favour of the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba State ruling that Ishaku’s nomination by PDP could not be questioned by a non-member of the party and thus stating that his nomination complied with section 85 of the electoral act.

The Court, therefore, upheld Mr. Ishaku’s election, after upholding most of his 3 grounds of appeal against the cross-appeal filed by the candidate of the All Progressive Congress , Aisha Alhassan, who had asked for the cancellation of the election.
