Nigerian activist, Comrade Deji Adeyanju has called a new order asking broadcasting stations to stop using Twitter as unlawful.

We earlier reported that NBC on Monday directed all broadcasting stations in the country to suspend the use of Twitter.

NBC, in a statement issued by its Director General, Armstrong Idachaba, advised television and radio stations to de-install twitter handles and stop using it as a source of user generated content (UGC) of information gathering for news and programs.

It further warned that it will be unpatriotic for any broadcaster in Nigeria to continue to patronise the suspended Twitter.

Reacting, Adeyanju in a post via his Twitter account, Deji told the broadcasting station to ignore the hopeless and baseless order.

According to him, there is no law under which such an order can be issued.

“Under what law is this rubbish statement based? There is no law that allows such an order to be given.

“Nigeria media should ignore this hopeless & baseless order,” he wrote.
