Bandits Abduct Taraba NLC Chairman Again

Mr Peter Jediel, the Taraba State chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), has been abducted by gunmen for the second time.

Jediel was abducted at about 3.30 a.m. on Sunday July 4 at his residence in Sunkani, the administrative headquarters of Ardo-Kola local government council on the outskirt of Jalingo, the state capital.

Police sources told Premium Times that the abduction took place in the presence of his family members.

This is the second time the 54-year-old NLC Chairman would be kidnapped this year. The first was in February and he was released two days later after an undisclosed amount was paid as ransom.
