In a bid to find favour, the controversial Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to allow him nominate an indigene of the state into the Presidential cabinet.

The Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose disclosed this in a statement released on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

The governor also said that he had written Buhari a letter on the issue and was hopeful that his response would be favourable.

“I shall be happy to nominate a worthy and competent professional, who can always oblige Your Excellency and your cabinet the benefit of a second opinion in the serious business of governance,” Fayose wrote to Buhari according to Punch.

The governor said he had written the letter based on the declaration made by Buhari that he would put the overall interest of the country above every other particularly political partisanship and bias.

Fayose was one of the champions of the hate crusade against Buhari during the election campaigns and single-handedly sponsored a newspaper advert which seemed to prophesy death for the President.
