we reported it here that the Head of Protocol for the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Abubakar, was shot dead by armed robbers at his Abuja residence at Kado Estate near Gwarinpa in the Nation's capital in the early hours of today.
His death was officially announced by NFF via their Twitter account. Read the tweet below:
The late NFF official who was a graduate of Political Science at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, was happily married with 3 children.
A traumatized NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi said of Abubakar's sudden death: "He was full of life when he left the office yesterday; the Federation has lost a dedicated and assiduous staff. This is so painful."
As at the time of filing this report, the circumstances surrounding his murder is yet to be disclosed by the Nation's football regulating body.
'Ibro' as he is fondly called, joined the Nigeria Football Federation in 2007. He will be buried later today at his residence in Kaduna according to Islamic rites.
