AFCON Qualifier: Keshi Retains Eight Home-based Eagles for Chad Clash

Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi, has retained eight home-based players in camp for the June 13 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier clash against Chad.

 
 
Ahead of the the June 13 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad, Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi, has retained eight home-based players in camp.
 
The players retained include: Daniel Akpeyi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa (goalkeepers), Azubuike Egwuekwe, Solomon Kwambe and Chima Akas (defenders), Bright Onyedikachi (midfielder), Gbolahan Salami and Okechukwu Gabriel (strikers).
 
The football gaffer, on Tuesday, June 2, said that the retained players would be joined by the 15 invited foreign-based professionals for the final phase of preparations for Nigeria's opening 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad in Kaduna next weekend.
 
Keshi, however urged players who failed to make the cut not to be discouraged but to work harder to keep themselves among the pool of players that could be called up for future national team assignments.
