An angry man has without regret murdered his own wife in cold blood because of her activities on Facebook.
An Egyptian man killed his wife by stabbing her 17 times on the grounds she preferred Facebook to him, newspapers reported on Wednesday.
Police arrested the husband after her brother reported that she was stabbed many times at their home in eastern Egypt, Emirates247 reports.
“The husband said he decided to kill her because she preferred Facebook over him and was always busy with the social media without giving him any attention,” a police source said, quoted by local newspapers.
Her mother, speaking on a local TV channel, said she had rejected that man as a husband for her daughter but that the girl insisted on marrying him.
“I did not see my daughter as a bride at her wedding. I saw her dead at her funeral,” the mother said.
