According to a report by The PUNCH, the Delta State Police Command has confirmed the discovery of the decomposing body of an unidentified lady around the Federal University Junction of the East-West Road in the state.
PUNCH Metro reports that the corpse was discovered on Wednesday by passersby.
The corpse was reportedly discovered lying face down inside a drainage system connected to the Agbarho River.
The victim, according to witnesses, appeared to have been killed before she was dumped in the drain.
Other sources claimed that she might have been knocked down by a vehicle.
The acting state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, told journalists that the lady could be a victim of a hit-and-run driver.
“The corpse is already decomposing. So, we contacted the local government authorities, while investigation is ongoing,” the PPRO added.
