Seven Persons Nabbed With Fake N7.8m, 110,000 Dollars In Nasarawa

As many as seven persons with fake N7.8million and 110,000 dollars have been arrested in Lafia by the Nasarawa State Police Command, Daily Post reports.

According to the Police Commissioner, two of the suspects were apprehended on 4th June, 2021 while attempting to pay some money into an account using a Point of Sale (PoS) located in the College of Agriculture in Lafia.

He explained that a student of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi and one other went to deposit N50,000 at the POS when the agent observed some of the notes to be fake.

According to the agent, the suspects wanted to force her to accept the money, resulting in an alteration and the agent had to seek police intervention.

The Police Commissioner explained that when the information was received by the Police personnel attached to the Area Command in Lafia, he moved immediately to the scene and arrested the suspect.

According to Mr Longe, further investigation by the Police led to the arrest of five other suspects and N7.8million counterfeit currency in 1,000 denomination and 110,000 dollars, all counterfeit notes in 100 dollars Bill’s recovered as exhibits against the suspects.
