Commercial Driver Lands In Hot Soup For Allegedly Plotting Robbery Of His Own Passengers In Jigawa

Daily Post reports that the police in Jigawa State has arrested a commercial car driver for allegedly masterminding armed robbery of his passengers.

Adam explained that the incident happened after six passengers boarded a commercial vehicle Peugeot citron 897 with reg no. KNS 572 TRN at NNPC roundabout Kano to Babaldu village in B/Kudu local Government.

He said on reaching Tsamiyar Tannaga a border between Kano and Jigawa State unknown persons standing by the roadside waved the driver to stop.

He said the passengers, however, warned the driver not to stop at the point at the hour of the night but the driver ignored them and parked his vehicle.

Police spokesman said immediately the driver stopped, four (4) unknown Fulani men armed with sticks and cutlasses with their faces covered with masks came out from the bush and robbed them the sum of one hundred and ninety-five thousand naira (195,000.00).

The victims reported the incident to the police after they have strongly suspected the driver to be the master minder of their attack.

The driver identified as Yahya Muhammad of Kangire village in B/Kudu local Government was arrested
