A recently opened retail outlet, Shoprite has been attacked by protesting youths demanding immediate redress to their plights.
The mall after the attack
Thousands of shoppers and workers were trapped on Friday as protesting youths took over the Delta Shopping Mall, in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta state.
The mall houses the popular South African consumer shop, Shoprite and nearly 100 others. It is located at the Effurun Roundabout on the gateway to the East and South-south states.
The Police have confirmed the incident and said the youths are protesting over lack of employment opportunities and other benefits.
