Drama As Synagogue Church Member Gets Swindled Of 10,000 Euros In Lagos Hotel

The victim entrusted the money to the manager of the hotel, Uzoamaka Ajearo and his lover, Sarah Okoh, because they claimed to be members of the church for safe keeping until when he will need the money.

 

David Egbiareuba, a member of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, who came to Nigeria for the annual pilgrimage, is now counting his losses, according to a report by P.M. Express.

The man is counting his losses after he lodged and was defrauded 10,000 Euros in a popular hotel by members of the church in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the victim, David Egbiareuba, returned to Nigeria for the annual pilgrimage to the church and lodged in the popular Emic Hotel located at Alhaji Sodiq Close, off Onirewura Street,Ikotun area of Lagos, managed by the members of the church.

The victim entrusted the money to the manager of the hotel, Uzoamaka Ajearo and his lover, Sarah Okoh, because they claimed to be members of the church for safe keeping until when he will need the money.

However, the manager, Ajearo and his lover, Sarah, bolted with the money and went into hiding thereby frustrating the victim from getting back to his base. They were said to have disconnected every communications to reach them and did not return the money.

The victim, David, went to Area M Command, Idimu and reported the alleged fraud and the Police moved into action and later arrested Sarah while her lover, Ajearo, went into hiding.

The Police subsequently charged Sarah before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conspiracy and stealing, which attracts several years of imprisonment if they are tried and found guilty before the Court.

She pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr. Simeon Njue, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that she committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.S. Okubule, granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.

She was remanded in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri, town, Lagos, pending the perfection of bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned till 5th November, 2021, for mention.
