Man Sentenced To Six months Imprisonment For Selling Adulterated Grains In Jigawa

 A man identified as Nuhu Isyaku has been sentenced to six months imprisonment for selling adulterated grains in Jigawa.

The The Jigawa State Consumer Protection Committee’s Chairman, Alhaji Farouk Abdallah, who disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday, said the man was arrested with 23 bags of beans and other grains at Babura market.

He said the man was arrested when the committee paid unscheduled visit to the market.

Farouk explained that the suspect was arrested with 17 bags of adulterated millet and six bags of adulterated beans in the market.

The chairman said the suspect was prosecuted and sentenced to six months imprisonment with N80,000 fine option.
