Boko Haram fighters have suffered severe losses against the Nigerian troops in a recent operation in the north-eastern part of Nigeria.

Nigerian military troops on Friday, 15th of January routed some Boko Haram insurgents in Yobe State. A security source told DailyPost that the gun duel took place in a settlement in Babangida area.
The sect members on sighting the troops started shooting sporadically. The retaliation by soldiers resulted in death of many members of the sect.
Several weapons were recovered after the fighters had been killed. Pictures of the victory were made available to the press by the Nigerian army.
