The victim reportedly died on Saturday, October 23, at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada and was buried in his village in Southern Kaduna two days after.

In what will come across as a really heartbreaking development, a security guard identified only as John, who was stabbed during an attack on the Dunamis International Gospel Centre in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja, is dead.

The victim reportedly died on Saturday, October 23, at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada and was buried in his village in Southern Kaduna two days after.

John was stabbed when unidentified hoodlums invaded the Dunamis Church located at the entrance of District Centre Estate in Kubwa.

He was rushed to a private medical centre in Kubwa, where surgeries were carried out.

When he developed complications because of the severity of the wound, he was rushed to the UNIABUJATH in Gwagwalada where he died.

The news of his death was said to have thrown the church into mourning, as some members discussed the incident in hushed tones.

A member said, “John was a very good person. On the day he was stabbed, he was billed to collect invitation cards for his wedding from the printer. The marriage had been scheduled for December this year. May his soul rest in peace. If our security guard could be stabbed and no arrest made, then, who is safe?”

When contacted on the development, a member of the Public Relations Department of Dunamis Church, Dr. O. Adah, who had earlier threatened our correspondent for reporting the invasion of the church, refused to respond.

Another member of the PR department of the church, Isaac Michael, said, “Confirm very well from your source sir…I am not aware.”
