Police Arrest Suspected Serial Motorcycle Thieves In Ondo

The suspects who were operating in the Akoko axis in the northern senatorial district of the state were arrested with no fewer than 12 motorcycles in their possession.

Operatives of the Ogun state police have apprehended some suspected motorcycles thieves in the state.

The suspects who were operating in the Akoko axis in the northern senatorial district of the state were arrested with no fewer than 12 motorcycles in their possession.

The gang headed by one Akin Sina Aribisala were alleged to have been stealing and snatching motorcycles in Ikare and Oka Akoko.

Following their arrest, 12 motorbikes were recovered in their hideout in a forest near Iwaro-Oka in Akoko South- West Local Government of the State.

The leader of the group, Aribisala, a native of Ikare-Akoko, who is said to be notorious within the axis confessed to recently motorcycle snatching and stealing motorbikes, a crime rampant in Akoko.

One of the victims of the gang, Muyideen Ajani said his Bajaj motorcycle was stolen from his house at Ishakunmi street, Ikare-Akoko in the dead of the night.

The Divisional Police Officer for Ikare Akoko, SP Ade Akinwande who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, added that investigation had begun to get to the root of the crime.
