The Brigadier-General in the Nigerian Army was killed by the terrorist after he was ambushed alongside other soldiers in Bulguma on November 13, 2021.

The Nigerian Army has announced plans for the burial of Brigadier-General Dzarma Zirkusu.
 
Zirkusu was killed by fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province weeks ago.
 
He will now be buried on Friday at the military cemetery in Yola, Adamawa State.

The Brigade Commander of the 23 brigades Yola, Aminu Garba Mustapha, on Thursday while speaking on the burial arrangement said “the slain General would be buried on Friday by 3 pm at the military cemetery in Yola.
 
Meanwhile. the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has declared 3-day mourning to honour the departed military General.
 
The Governor in a statement released through his media aide, Solomon Kumangar, directed that the mourning period starts from Friday to Sunday.
 
He said, “Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has declared a 3-day mourning period for the late Brigadier General Dzarma Zirkusu as a mark of honour for his sacrifice to our fatherland.

“During the period which commences on Friday 26th to Sunday 28th November 2021, the National flag is expected to fly at half-mast across the state.”
