Nine staff of Zaria Local government Council who were kidnapped by bandits 19 days ago have regained freedom.

Dailypost learnt that N40 million was paid as ransom before the release of the nine female victims from their abductors.

A source hinted that the bandits are demanding two new motorcycles as ransom before the release of the remaining two males still in captivity.

A relative of one of the victims explained that the kidnappers initially demanded for both the money and the two motorcycles at the same time.

According to him, the kidnappers released the women demanding for the two motorcycles before the two males could regain their freedom.

Recall that 11 staff of Zaria Local Government Area were abducted early November in Idasu village, Giwa Local Government Area on their way to condole with one of their colleagues that lost his father.

Following the shutdown of telecommunication services in parts of the State, the kidnappers released the driver of the vehicle to communicate to the families of those affected about their abduction.
