The Zamfara state government have ordered the immediate restoration of telecommunication networks blocked in the 13 local government areas of the state due to the worsening insecurity.

An investigation carried out by Dailypost revealed that eight local government areas had their telecommunication networks restored on Sunday night.

It was learnt that in some areas, the network was not strong enough, which experts said would take some time before it reaches stability.

According to a villager, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar, “I was in my room in the village when somebody called me on the phone from Anka Local Government Area of the state and we discussed.

“It seemed to me like magic because since last Saturday when the Governor made the promise that the telecommunication network would be restored and nothing happened since then.”

This medium gathered that the remaining five local government areas would be restored today, Monday, and the whole rural areas would enjoy telecommunication networks within the week.

Recall that Matawalle had earlier blocked all the telecommunication networks in the state including Gusau, the state capital, due to banditry activities ravaging the state.

He restored the networks in Gusau after much lamentations from residents who were complaining of economic hardship due to the telecommunication network blockage.
