An unnamed student in Asia has prepared a fake meal to curb the excesses of her roommate who has been in the habit of stealing from her.
A university student got her 15 minutes of fame recently when her elaborate plan to get back at her thieving roommate went viral on the internet.
The student, from an unnamed university in China, said she was forced to act after she discovered that her roommate had a bad habit of stealing food, and thought long and hard about confronting her.
The roommate had been secretly stealing her food from the fridge, which prompted her to come up with the plan - lay out a tasty-looking but fake breaded chicken cutlet as a trap.
The cutlet is almost indistinguishable from the original and looks just as tasty until you bite into it. The student posted the step-by-step process online. First, she used two pieces of cardboard as the supposed chicken fillet, which she shaped with a knife to give it a round, smooth look.
She then dipped the cardboard fillet in soy sauce, flour and breadcrumbs, after which she put it into a pan to fry.
The result was a crispy cardboard cutlet, onto which she added chilli powder just for good measure.
The pictures have been shared hundreds of thousands of times, The student did not reveal the end of the story, if the trap worked after it was placed in the fridge.
