A group allegedly hired to protest against the decision of an Appeal Court ruling in favour of APGA governorship candidate have openly confessed they were promised monetary reward.

Dr. Alex Otti

It would have been a free-for-all fight if not for the intervention of some rescuers who averted a fight between an alleged hired group and their contractors in Lagos that gathered to protest against the judgment of the Appeal Court, which declared the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Dr. Alex Otti, the winner of Abia State governorship election, Vanguard reports.

According to the report, trouble started when those who contracted the fake group known as Abia Youth Team to stage a peaceful demonstration to faulting the court’s judgement which declared Otti as the winner of Abia State governorship election failed to pay them as agreed.

One of the aggrieved supporters of the non-existing group in Lagos made the confession in a statement.

It read: “We were individually invited to protest against Alex Otti’s Appeal Court victory. They agreed to pay each of us the sum of Two thousand naira after.

“After much argument, they agreed to our terms. When we were about ending, a government vehicle got to the place with a plated number ABGH30. Later, the vehicle tried escaping with the two men that contracted us, but we refused. Seeing how serious we were, they attacked us and we retaliated back,” he explained.
