A student has been arrested by the Kano police command for murdering his friend following a row that occurred between the two over a girlfriend.
A student in Kano has allegedly stabbed his estranged friend to death over a girl friend.
The suspect, Sadik Ado-maje who is a former student of First Grade College in Kano was taken into police custody following the murder of one Usman Salisu.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kano State Command, DSP Magaji Majiya, told Reporters in Kano that the suspect have been apprehended after a futile attempt to escape justice.
DSP Majiya said that “the suspect is now cooling his feet at the Kwalli Police Division and would be arraign soon as we complete our investigation”.
“I don’t want to preempt the likely of our investigation, but I want to assure you this matter would be followed to its logical conclusion”, DSP Majiya assured.
Similarly, eyewitness told Vanguard that the suspect who was expelled from the school for unruly behaviour had stormed the college to settle scores with his friend who he suspected to have snatched his girl friend.
The account said that the incident which occured during breakfast period triggered pandemonium among College community before normalcy was restored by the private Guards attached to the school.
The eyewitness disclosed that the suspect soon as he arrived the premises of the school picked up his target and after a brief row students scampered for safety.
He said that “I saw Salisu soaked in blood on the floor while effort made by other bystanders to apprehended the assailant failed."
However, DSP Majiya said that the deceased was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
