Abducted Kano Lawmaker's Mother Regains Freedom After 13 Days

The lawmaker, who is the Speaker of Kano Assembly, confirmed the development on Tuesday, disclosed that his mother regained freedom after the payment of N40 million.

 

After spending about 13 days in captivity, the abducted mother of Kano lawmaker, Hajiya Zainab, on Tuesday regained freedom after the payment of N40 million ransom.

Hajiya Zainab, the mother of Isiyaku Ali Danja, a former Minority Leader, Kano State House of Assembly, was said to have been abducted from her bedroom in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, on January 12, 2021.

The lawmaker, who is the Speaker of Kano Assembly, confirmed the development on Tuesday, disclosed that his mother regained freedom after the payment of N40 million.

Ali Danja said he is on his way to pick his mother from a Local Government in Jigawa State where the abductors dropped her.
