Police have finally gunned down a notorious gang leader and armed robber who terrorized residents of Lagos state during a fierce shootout.
A notorious gang leader and armed robber popularly known as Sunday Terror who terrorized Lagos residents has been shot dead in the Oyingbo area of Lagos State during a shootout with policemen.
According to reports, the man nicknamed Sunday Terror because of his notorious ways was killed on Monday at Ondo Street. The notorious armed robber had on Monday at about 7 am led his gang to unleash violence on residents of Ondo Street during which he exchanged fire with policemen who went to the scene.
A police source revealed that Sunday Terror was shot several times before he finally died. It was gathered that the deceased had been on the watch list of the Area C Command, Surulere.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the gang leader’s death, adding that the command would continue to ensure safety of lives.
She said, “The men of the Denton division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, responded to a distress call in the area and they had an exchange of fire with the suspect. He died in the shootout.”
It would be recalled that on January 5, 2016, Sunday Terror’s second-in-command, identified only as Isiaka, was killed during a New Year robbery in the Okobaba area.
