BREAKING: Judge Recuses Self From Sowore’s Treasonable Felony Charge

Sowore, who arrived in the court few minutes ago in company of his supporters, was told by the court official that the judge has withdrawn from the case.

SaharaReporters reports that Justice Obiora Egwuatu has withdrawn from the treasonable felony charge levelled against the human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, by the Nigerian government.

Sowore, who arrived in the court few minutes ago in company of his supporters, was told by the court official that the judge has withdrawn from the case.

The case, which was scheduled for re-arraignment, March 1, before the judge was abruptly called off when the judge turned down the case.

Sowore had already seated in the court alongside his lawyer when a court registrar approached and whispered to him the development.

SaharaReporters also gathered that the case has been assigned to Justice Emeka Nwite but the judge had not shown up at the time of filing this report.

It was earlier reported that Sowore arrived at the Federal High Court Abuja ahead of his re-arraignment for trumped up treasonable felony charge levelled against him by the Nigerian government. 

Sowore arrived in the court in company of his personal security guards and supporters at about 9:20am.

Meanwhile armed security operatives not in uniform and mufti were noticed around the court premises believed to be laying siege for the activist.
