Popular Yoruba movie actor/producer, Femi Adebayo, in a recent interview he granted City People denied the widely circulated rumour that his colleague, Funke Akindele, was behind the troubles that led to the crash of his marriage.
Popular Yoruba movie star, Femi Adebayo, has opened up on the circumstances that led to the crash of his marriage.
While debunking the rumour that a fellow popular actress, Funke Akindele, was the reason behind his failed marriage, the actor said his ex-wife was uncomfortable with his choice of career as an actor.
He told City People: "Funke had nothing to do with my marriage crash. The major reason my marriage broke-up was the fact that my baby mother does not really like my profession. Funke absolutely has nothing to do with his marriage problems. And I want people to get this clear".
Speaking further, the movie star said he initially promised his former wife that he would only take acting as a hubby, but as fate would have it, his success as an actor attracted more offers. He even said he tried his hands on other professions but they were not fruitful, and acting was the only job paying his bills and putting food on the table.
Mr. Adebayo further disclosed that his marriage, which produced three kids, had packed up seven years ago and his ex, who filed for divorce two years after they separated, is now remarried.
On whether he also has plans to remarry, the actor answered in the affirmative but hinted that he wasn't going to rush into it a second time. "I haven't chosen a date, venue or the wife. Marriage is a good thing that everyone is expected to do", he said.
