Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples' Democratic Party have taken a major swipe at Ali Gulak over his alleged attempt to tear down the party's structure.

Former Political Adviser to Jonathan, Ali Gulak

The governors attacked the former political adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Ali Gulak following his planned take over of the chairmanship position of the erstwhile ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a communique issued after their meeting, they described Gulak’s invasion of their national headquarters alongside Doyin Okupe as “regrettable and condemnable”.

The governors said the party constitution and processes were already in motion to deal with the court orders and Gulak had no business executing the law.

The governors added that a machinery was already in motion to elect a new party chairman.

Mr Gulak had arrived the party’s office Wednesday, January 27, afternoon relying on a ruling by Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf of the High Court of the federal capital territory, who, on December 16, ordered the acting chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, to vacate office and allow Mr Gulak or anyone from the north east region of the country take over.

Also, PDP’s new media director, Deji Adeyanju in a series of tweets said governors of the party had appealed to Gulak not to allow persons bent on breaking the party use him.
